The finishing touches are underway to complete the project site construction, and the crew have worked in some challenging weather conditions this week to finish this. The last pieces of the pugmill are currently going together, meaning the setup of equipment on Kingsford Quay East is almost complete, including all of the necessary environmental controls. The silt curtain is also being installed on the dredge, meaning it will be ready for operation.
Clearing of the bank area for the pilot trial to take place has begun. The project’s geotech team will be onsite next week for the pilot trial, where the mudcrete produced by the pugmill will be tested to ensure it meets the specification. There will be stand down period while the mudcrete analysis is completed, and once the blend specification has been met dredging will commence.
